Final Report

The following report contains information on the analysis and redesign of the structural system for the Hakuna Resort located at Swiftwater, PA. A structural overview of the existing load bearing masonry shear wall system is included in the first portion of the report, while the rest of the report includes the structural redesign of the selected portion of the building using steel staggered truss system.

Two breadth studies were also completed along with the structural depth. The first breath was a architectural study to redesign the lower two floor plans to accommodate structural redesign. In addition, the existing exterior façade design was also changed to add more appealing look of the building. The second breadth study was a cost and schedule analysis to help determine the full impact of alternative structural system
